Young at Heart
This year marks 60 years since the first National Student Singer-Songwriter Competition: the joint winners of the inaugural edition were Marian Kawski and Edward Linde-Lubaszenko, with the second prize going to Ewa Demarczyk. Ever since then, the name of the event has changed several times, but it continues to attract young, talented artists whose names quickly become famous all over Poland. The programme of the 58th Student Song Festival in Kraków recalls these traditions. As well as a competition for up-and-coming artists, the event features evenings dedicated to the Anawa ensemble and Wojciech Młynarski, and concerts by Renata Przemyk and the Tricolor ensemble. Winners of this year’s competition will be revealed during the two-part gala finale at ICE Kraków, performing alongside winners of previous editions. (Bartosz Suchecki, Kraków Culture)
